Our rebuilding process of any ECU or DME starts with a deep evaluation of the condition of the circuit board and components. The first series of evaluations help us to identify problems on the unit as water-acid corrosion or fire-burn damage and, to actually make out the damaged components.
The unit is tagged and recorded into a database. Also, at this time we obtain the necessary information from hundreds of different models we repair to the correct application, ensuring that every point we are testing is an exact match to the car.
We test the damaged units with electronic lab equipment devices that emulate the actual car where the unit belongs. We have developed a specific tester for every manufacturer brand we rebuild to ensure accuracy in every single diagnose.
Once we diagnose and pin point what is wrong with the unit, we proceed to replace the damaged components. Also, depending of the application, we replace commonly known components that fail or that will fail with the upgraded components guaranteeing reliability for the lifetime of the unit.
At this point of the test we can identify if something else needs to be checked on the car the unit belongs to, before we send it the customer. Potential problems as High Voltage (Bad Alternator) Shorted ICV valve, or even a bad wiring harness can be predicted after this step, this will assure that the problem in the car is corrected before the rebuilt unit is plugged back on the car.
Depending of the application a separate test will be performed to the actual E-Prom or memory (chip) of the unit to isolate any problems. All defective memories are replaced with factory units. If the unit we are working on has a performance chip installed, and we find it defective, we will communicate with the customer first to let them know about the problem.
After the unit passes all tests, key components are re-soldered to ensure an optimum transfer of signals and required voltages.
Before the unit is put back in its cover, we paint the covers with high temperature resistant, specially formulated, automotive paint but this is optional.
We also respect your time. Therefore, most units have a turnaround time of 2 days once we get it in our shop. We are so thorough and dedicated that we ship all ECUs with a Full 5 Year Warranty. We also repair ECUs in many different brands of European cars. You will be surprised of the solutions we can provide you.
