The Porsche 993 CCU UPGRADE SERVICE will replace:

• Upgraded and enhanced software that matches your vehicle model and year (Porsche 993 /1993-1998).
• 100 % brand new circuit boards and SMD internal components.
• Brand new internal cabin temperature fan.
• Refinished outside metal housing.

NOTE: COSMETICS PARTS AS FRONT FACE PLATE, CLEAR SWITCH HOLDER BRACKET, KNOBS and SWITCHES are not included on the UPGRADE SERVICE.

These parts need our inspection first as many times are broken or faded. We offer replacement parts at extra charge.

HOW DO I SEND MY PORSCHE 993 CCU FOR THE UPGRADE SERVICE?

• Step 1: Fill out the SERVICE FORM.
• Step 2: Print the e-mail confirmation,
• Step 3: Ship the CCU along with the SERVICE FORM to us.

When we receive your climate control unit, we will proceed with the UPGRADE SERVICE process, but we will call you if we find problems with the switches or cosmetic parts that might need replacement with a quote.

The average time for the Exchange process is 5 - 7 days once we receive the A/C unit at our office.

How to remove your Porsche 993 AC Climate Control Unit (CCU):

Pro tip: In order to remove your climate control unit the suggested ISO RADIO removal tool is required.

Step 1: To begin the removal process is recommend that you protect the surface of your Dashboard just under the CCU, place or tape and towel or rag to avoid potential scratches to the dashboard surface.

Step 2: Using your ISO RADIO removal tool, insert them on the holes at each end of the CCU.

Step 3: Move the wiper switch to the upmost position, this way the CCU will be easier to remove.

Step 4: Begin pulling the CCU assembly, if you can, try to reach with your hand the back side of the CCU.

Step 5: Gently push out until the CCU comes out completely and you can see the connectors and harness on the back.

Step 6: Disconnect the 2 connectors by squeezing the tab at the ends, each connector is mounted in opposite directions.

Step 7: Be careful handling and packing the climate control unit assembly. Most of broken cosmetic parts are broken during shipping if no extra attention is placed when packing the unit.

Step 8: Make the extra effort to protect the plastic corners of CCU front face plate as they are fragile and if not packed properly can break during shipping.

• Do you "repair" or "replace" my entire climate control unit?
  
  We don't specifically do either of those things. What we do is replace all the internal circuit boards inside the CCU with new and upgraded parts.
  
  Now, all the "external" parts, such as the buttons, switches, knobs and metal casing, are cleaned to be best of our abilities in order to freshen up the look of the CCU.
  
  If any of these parts are damaged or worn out, our technician will suggest that we replace them with used spare parts that will look almost like new.
  
  
• The controls in my CCU are not working the way that I expect them to. Could this be the CCU that is defective, or could it be something else?
  
  If your CCU is acting a little crazy, and like it has a mind of its own, it is 100% that the CCU is defective. 
  
  These units stop working correctly because of failures in 7 different parts of the unit. This makes it VERY hard to fix with a conventinal repair. That is why we opted to completely upgrade all the internal circuit boards with brand new technology.
