⚠ Before you order, important notes for street vehicles
Before choosing the Immobilizer Removal service, it is important to understand that the Immobilizer Box on Porsche 996 and Boxster 986 models controls more than just the engine starting authorization. It also communicates with several vehicle functions including brake lights, turn signals, power windows, door locks, convertible top operation, and diagnostic communication with the DME.
If the original immobilizer module is water damaged or defective, it should first be properly replaced and restored before performing an immobilizer bypass on a street driven vehicle. Removing the immobilizer function without addressing the failed module can result in the loss of accessory functions and may prevent diagnostic scanners from communicating with the ECU.
In the case your immobilizer is water damaged, we recommend sending your ECU set, ECU, Immobilizer and remote fobs, for diagnostics.

Do i need to send my whole ECU set for the service ?
NO, only the ECU needs to be sent in for the service.
Is this service recommended for street cars?
For most street driven vehicles, removing the immobilizer system is not necessary. The factory Immobilizer / Alarm Control Unit also manages functions such as keyless entry, trunk release, convertible top operation, and other convenience features. If those systems are still functioning properly, we recommend keeping the immobilizer installed.
Is this service better suited for race cars or custom builds?
YES. This service is commonly used on race cars, engine swaps, and custom projects where reducing wiring complexity and removing unnecessary electronic systems is preferred.
Will this trigger a Check Engine Light?
YES. The modification can trigger a Check Engine Light on the instrument cluster due to the missing immobilizer communication. This does not affect the running condition of the engine. Immobilizer related fault codes may also remain stored in the system.
Will my ECU require programming after I receive it?
NO. Once the service is completed, your ECU will be fully Plug and Play ready for installation.
Do I need to modify any wiring?
YES. A simple wiring modification is required during installation. We provide detailed instructions along with any necessary installation hardware, including a starter bypass relay when needed.
My immobilizer is water damaged. Can I still perform the immobilizer removal service?
If your immobilizer is water damaged, it is important to replace and restore the immobilizer system first before bypassing the ECU drive blocking functions on a street car. The immobilizer controls several accessory systems including brake lights, turn signals, door locks, power windows, convertible top operation, and communication with diagnostic scanners. Removing the immobilizer without addressing the failed module can result in the loss of those functions and prevent proper ECU diagnostics.
